Delcourt House was named in tribute to family members who operated an
estaminet
near the France/Belgium border until the 1940s. After purchasing a hundred-year-old
house in Canning, Nova Scotia we began careful restoration and renovation
to create
Delcourt House Bed & Breakfast.
We strove to retain the character and charm of the house while updating
amenities
to meet the standards of today's discerning traveller.
The
house sits on an acre and a half property with perennial flower beds;
a fresh fruit, herb and
vegetable garden; and mature maple, oak and butternut trees. Delcourt
House is in the
village of Canning
in
the Annapolis Valley
of Nova Scotia. The Valley is home to apple
orchards and vineyards near the Bay of Fundy, which boasts the highest
tides in the world.
